"Most ASEAN sellers pick a shipping service once — and never revisit it. That decision is costing them time, money, or both."
Shipping from Vietnam, Malaysia, or Singapore to the United States, European Union, or Australia is not a one-size-fits-all problem. The corridor matters. The commodity matters. Whether you're sending 10 parcels a month or 500 matters. And yet most cross-border sellers choose a service the way they choose a restaurant — by what they've heard of, not what actually fits.
The result is predictable: wrong transit times, unexpected costs, and buyers who don't come back.
ShipX built the Product Wizard — called Find My Service — to fix exactly this.
The Real Problem Is Too Much Choice Without Enough Context
Cross-border shipping from Southeast Asia has expanded fast. Sellers based in Vietnam, Malaysia, or Singapore now have access to express carriers, economy options, bulk freight lanes, and commercial-grade logistics — all under one platform. That's a genuine advantage. But it creates a new problem: knowing which service to use for a specific lane, product type, and volume.
ShipX alone manages 20+ active services across Direct, Express, Economy, Bulk/FBA, and Commercial categories. Each one performs differently depending on origin, destination, commodity, and how much you're shipping. Picking blindly — or sticking with what you've always used — means you're almost certainly leaving speed or savings on the table.
The question isn't "does ShipX have a service for me?" It's "which one is the right one, right now, for this lane and this shipment?" That's what the Product Wizard answers.
What the Product Wizard Actually Does
The Product Wizard is ShipX's most opinionated tool. Feed it your lane, your commodity, your priority, and your volume — and it returns a single best-match service, weighted to what you told it matters most. Not a list. Not a filter. A recommendation.
Behind the result, the AI checks 20+ services against your specific combination of inputs and weights the match accordingly. Speed-first sellers get a different result from price-first sellers — even on the same route. That's by design. A recommendation engine that ignores your priority is just a catalogue.
The output includes three rate tiers shown side by side — high-volume, base, and new-account — so you see the full picture without a back-and-forth with a sales team. Alongside the best match, you get two alternatives the system considered, with their own specs and rationale. Transparent pricing. No hidden fees.
How the Wizard Works — Step by Step
The tool runs through a few quick questions. Here's what each one does.
Step 1 — Lane
Select your origin (Vietnam, Singapore, or Malaysia) and your destination (United States, European Union, United Kingdom, or Australia). This filters the full service catalogue to only the routes that are live and optimised for your corridor.
Step 2 — Commodity
Choose your product type: Electronics, Cosmetics and Skincare, Textiles and Apparel, Food and Supplements, General Goods, or something else. Commodity affects clearance handling, carrier restrictions, and which services are eligible for your goods. It matters more than most sellers realise.
Step 3 — Priority
This is where the weighting happens. Tell the system what matters most: Speed, Price, or Reliability. Your answer changes the recommendation. A seller who picks Speed on the Vietnam-to-US lane will get a different match than one who picks Price — even if everything else is identical.
Step 4 — Volume
How many shipments are you moving? A few a month, around 50, around 100, 500 or more, or a specific number. Volume determines which tier rates apply to your situation and unlocks cost bands that aren't available at lower thresholds.
After those four inputs, the wizard captures your contact details and delivers the match.
What the Result Looks Like — A Real Example
To make this concrete: a seller shipping from Vietnam to the United States, with parcels around 1 kg, who selects Speed as their priority.
The Product Wizard returns
ShipX Express via FedEx (FXE) as the best match. Direct from Vietnam. Transit time: 2–4 days. Weight capacity up to 30 kg per parcel.
The rate card shows three tiers side by side:
- High-volume rate: $19.32 (highlighted as the lowest)
- Base rate: $21.00
- New-account rate: $23.10
These are rate bands, not a single final price. The locked-in contracted rate — the one that reflects your exact volume, lane, and account structure — comes from talking to the ShipX team. What the wizard gives you is a clear picture of the range before that conversation, so you arrive informed.
Three rationale points explain the match:
- Speed first. FXE via FedEx delivers in 2–4 days — among the fastest services on the Vietnam-to-US lane.
- Reliability 5/5. Direct handover in Vietnam, established FedEx infrastructure, and real-time tracking throughout.
- Weight band fits. Up to 30 kg per parcel covers the vast majority of SME cross-border shipments.
Below the main result, two alternatives appear: ShipX Express via UPS (USS — 2–4 days, up to 300 kg, base $24.00) and ShipX Express via DHL (DLV — 2–5 days, up to 30 kg, base $22.50). Both are strong services. The system chose FXE for this input combination — but shows its work.
The rate card also carries a green badge:
∼15% below market average. That's not a marketing claim — it's the output of ShipX's contracted carrier network, which covers 45+ global partners and passes volume-negotiated rates directly to sellers.
What Comes Next — The Locked-In Rate
The Product Wizard is a starting point, not a contract. Its job is to cut through 20+ options and show you the one that fits — and give you enough rate context to have a real conversation with the team.
When you're ready to move from a rate band to a locked-in contracted rate, ShipX's team takes it from there. A contracted account unlocks route optimisation, dedicated lanes, account-level service, and rates fixed to your volume — none of which appear in a self-serve wizard.
The bottom of every result carries the same prompt:
"Want a locked-in rate? Talk to our team for an exact contracted rate."
That's the step most sellers skip. It's also the one that makes the biggest difference at scale.
More than 2,500 businesses across Southeast Asia use ShipX to move their cross-border shipments. Combined, those businesses have shipped over 2.5 million orders through the platform — to 200+ destinations, across 45+ carrier partners.
The Product Wizard is one of several self-serve tools available on the platform — alongside the Shipment Tracker, HS Code Generator, and Claims Filing. Each one was built for the same reason: cross-border logistics should not require a logistics degree.
If you're shipping from Vietnam, Malaysia, or Singapore to the US, EU, UK, or Australia and still relying on guesswork to pick your service, the wizard takes less time than a Google search. Your lane, your goods, your priority, your volume — four inputs and you have a recommendation built around your shipment, not someone else's.
"Stop guessing. Find your service in four questions — then lock in your rate with the team."

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the ShipX Product Wizard?
The Product Wizard — also called Find My Service — is a self-serve tool on the ShipX platform. It takes your lane, commodity, shipping priority, and volume, then returns a single best-match service from 20+ options, weighted to what you said matters most. It also shows rate bands across three tiers and two alternative services it considered.
Which shipping lanes does the Product Wizard cover?
Currently the wizard covers outbound lanes from Vietnam, Singapore, and Malaysia to the United States, European Union, United Kingdom, and Australia. These are ShipX's highest-demand cross-border corridors.
How is the matched rate calculated?
The wizard shows three rate tiers: high-volume, base, and new-account. These are rate bands that reflect pricing across different volume thresholds — not a single final price. The locked-in contracted rate for your specific lane and volume comes from a conversation with the ShipX team.
Can I trust the recommendation if I'm a new shipper?
Yes. The wizard weights its recommendation based on the priority you select — Speed, Price, or Reliability — not on how much you've shipped before. New-account rates are shown transparently alongside base and high-volume tiers, so you can see exactly where you're starting from.
What does the "~15% below market average" badge mean?
It reflects ShipX's contracted carrier network pricing. Because ShipX aggregates volume across 2,500+ clients and 45+ carrier partners, the platform passes negotiated rates to individual sellers — rates that most SMEs could not access independently.
What happens after I get my match?
The wizard result is a starting point. When you're ready to move from a rate band to a fixed contracted rate, the ShipX team takes over — with route optimisation, dedicated lanes, and account-level service tailored to your volume and destinations.
